These resourceful little dung beetles (scarabs) come to life during summer time. Dung piles come literally writhe with these beetles.

There are approximately 780 species of Dung Beetle in South Africa alone.

These beetles vary in size from tiny beetles at 5mm to large species at 50mm. The lifespan of dung

beetles is approximately 2 years.

Be careful not to drive through dung as there may be many of these beautiful creatures in the dung.
